The Beatles Abbey Road - August 8, 1969

Happy Anniversay! It's been 40 years since that photo was taken for The Beatles Abbey Road album. Photographer Iain Macmillan was hired to capture McCartney’s vision on film. Macmillan climbed a ladder that perched him about ten feet above the fabled street. A police officer held the traffic back while Macmillan squeezed off a few shots of the Beatles crossing the street in one direction. Some traffic was allowed to pass for a short time, and then Macmillan photographed the group crossing the street in the opposite direction. He took a total of six photographs during the shoot, and it was number five – which featured all the band members’ legs in a perfect “V” formation- that was ultimately chosen for the cover.

Paper Castle

Beautiful...and it's made of paper! It took the artist four years to create this masterpiece. The castle is currently being shown in a Japanese museum.

David Cook on American Idol

Wow! I'll be loading up on this new cd at itunes. Love it! It was so cool seeing David on American Idol last night. His mom and grandma were in the audience too. This guy is so humble and it's easy to see he cherishes his family. I hope he doesn't forget where he came from. Another Midwestern guy.

New Photo of AI Adam Lambert!

New Moon

Oh my, I'm counting down the days before "New Moon" is released in theaters. Tonight I'm going to Walmart at midnight to get my very own copy of "Twilight" on DVD!

Twilight DVD release date 3.21.09

I'm planning on being at Walmart at midnight Friday. Rumors are some of the cast members are going to be making surprise appearances at unspecified locations. Could Galesburg be one of them? Could Edward/Rob come to my hometown?

American Idol: Yep, I'm voting for Adam!

Next on my Reading List

Every scrapbook tells a story. Memories of friends, family . . .and murder?
Mousy housewife Kiki Lowenstein has two great loves: scrapbooking and her young daughter, Anya. But her happy family album is ruined when her husband, George, is found naked and dead in a hotel room. As Kiki tracks down George's murderer, she discovers his sordid secret life.
Cruel taunts by George's former flame compel Kiki to spout an unwise threat. When the woman is murdered, Kiki's scissor-sharp words make her the prime suspect. She could be creating scrapbook keepsakes for the rest of her life-behind bars. Supported by her loyal friends, along with a little help (and a lot of stomach flutters) from the dashing Detective Detweiler, can Kiki cut the true killer out of the picture and design a new life for herself and Anya?

Hello Kitty! Look Lara!

Wow, what do you think of this, Lara? Very cool, huh? Heck, this could match your toaster.

StampAttics Mission Impossible Challenge # 5

Here's the winning card! It's mine! I used the new SU! Manhattan designer paper for the background and mounted it on Kiwi Kiss cardstock. Next I die-cutted the flower and added a bit of glitter for some sparkle and topped it off with Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon.

Hey! It's the Prairie State Legal Services Piggy!

Our office mascot, the little piggy, travels all over the place. He's usually placed in a briefcase, purse or coat pocket unknowingly and makes his appearance after arrival. This trip he is visiting the Batavia Public Library after he hitched a ride to the Prairie State Legal Services Public Benefits Task Force meeting. Notice he's reading a classic with Mark Twain and sucking up some rays.
